Just to help define "junk" the PAB in the eBay listing is an S&L produced piece IMO. Us hard core 57er guys would not consider it collectible because of the era in which it was manufactured. We prefer the early stuff, 1958 to 1965, though the earlier the better, as it was more likely to have been vet owned. We have seen a few (two that I recall) groupings with provenance, comprised of later pieces.

The scariest part of this Australian sellers auctions is the prices he asks! That PAB should sell for around $60US IMO and he's asking a bit more!

What's most troubling is that he has a 100% rating. That's a lot of happy people buying ordinary stuff

          Fully agree.
But for me the scariest is that it has the "200" number.
That makes it for me a fantasy badge!

There are honest grouping that have badges made in the same era.
But I hardly doubt that you will ever find a PAB200 in an honest grouping unless the person is/was a "wannabe".

Absolutely correct Luud! Thanks for adding what I should've stated.

Indeed Tony! What's the old saying? "A fool and his money are soon parted."

Scary thing is the effort he goes to to trick potential buyers, for something worth a few $'s he writes pages of crap supposedly supporting his items!!

Nice expression, and like an old friend once said to me: "there is a fool born every day".

I will post the pictures for future reference.

I just posted a badge to compare to show the difference with this badge and a badge from the earliest manufactoring to show the difference in quality:http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=582137
