yes, the EK 1 and EK 2 ribbon is a "Doppelband".
He earned the HSF badge as "Obermaschinist" on the cruiser "Leipzig".
Very interesting to see a doppelband on such an early ribbon bar.
Thanks for showing
I forgot to ask if the clasp is the silver grade?
It looks like it could be that I see some silver finish left.
Because this thread turned in some kind of a general thread where many nice bars are shown, I will also show my DK U-boat bar.
I hope Rudiger doesn't mind
He also served at "Leipzig" from 1931-1933.
He got his HSF and KM clasp from his service at "Schlachtschiff Scharnhorst". 1938-1941
His silver U-boat clasp was earned as a LI on a U-boat 1942-1944
I was totally amazed to see all the great uboat clasps here in "my" thread
Great pieces, guys.
Amiklic, very nice and not easy to find bar. I saw that one for sale and you can be lucky that i only take ribbon bars with a uboat clasp on it
collani, woohoo, if you ever decide to part from that one....please drop me a line. That is a wonderful bar (2bars) with absolut honest signs of wear and a nice combination with that HSF and 4 year service medal
Luud, what shall i say A dream would come true to have such a great group in a collection
That is a top rare group when it comes to the early Bundesmarine
Having his tunics and visors AND papers is a top bonus that you really find more or less never again......well done
Jan Eric, you are invited to show your nice pieces here, too
I donĀ“t mind that you "hijacked" this thread here ....... so we have many wonderful bars in one single thread. Maybe we should use this one for the future for more uboat ribbon bars Better than opening a new one for one bar
IĀ“ll show you one more in have in my collection. It was my very first one with "only" the uboat badge but i love it as my other one
I like to see that 57 material a lot, although I don't collect it myself, and such material wasn't present in my war-time Uboat groupings when I got them.
Another great U-boot bar !
And nice that you know more about the wearer.
I have nothing U-boat related to post anymore, but I hope to see many more here!
Not really matching this thread, but because there are some U-boot collectors I will post this picture.
I don't know much about U-boats and wondered for a long time what they are doing.
Looks like a guy below fell on the ground holdng a huge hose and other are looking at him.
But why are they outside? And what are they doing?
What wonderful bars, groups and photos shown here guys! Congrats to each of you for your respective collections!
Luud, you never cease to amaze with the depth and quality of your collection!
I've always had tremendous respect for the bravery and courage of the u-boat crews. This was as tough a life as any branch of the military. Far too many left port and were never seen again.
sometimes the more simple bars have the better history
Luud, looks they have bad weather and stormy sea. Why they are all on the back of the boat....who knows. Maybe trainig, the have put on the "Reling" that is something they usually didnĀ“t do on Feindfahrt.
Not much i can add to whats already been said!!
Some super bars shown here, and , like Mike, i have the upmost respect for U-boat crews, i think they had the highest mortality rate of any of the armed forces!!
These guys really earned their awards!!!

I am sure that your photo shows the supply with fuel from another u-boat, maybe from a "milk cow" Type XIV boat in sea. My photo shows U-305 with an fuel hose, waiting for an "milk cow" for fuel supply.
