    Deumer MM'd L/11 EKI

Cheers to my good friend Nigel for his help in obtaining this EKI. Without him, it would be in another collection today! THANKS MY FRIEND!

Have a look friends. I think it's a pretty nice one! L/11 MM, burnished frames, magnetic core, matte paint, elegantly shaped needle and curly, pig tail catch.

That is an interesting mm . Seems its been double stamped ( see just above the L/11 mark and below the catch. Its a Deumer frame, so this could be one originally stamped with 3 and later the L/11 mark added. Its difficult to see from the pix what the other mark is, though .

                Very nice and early Deumer.
Looks like the person soldering the catches drunk a litlle too much the day before

Glad to help out Mike!! Thats a very nice early Deumer EK1, with all the early features, matt paint, elegant pin, wide hingeblock etc.
As Mathijs says, its quite possible this one has been double stamped with MM's, i've just seen one other cross that was stamped with both the "3" as well as "L/11"
A really nice piece, every chance that its one of the very earliest Deumers, and with the way prices are going, you did the right thing to get it now, while they're still affordable!!
Great addition to your collection -Nigelbanana.gif

A beautiful, very early text book Deumer

                      Regards

Nice Deumer you show us there, Mike.
Although a double strike of the mm looks pausible, it could also be a mark where they had to solder the catch. The lines could make it easier for the solder to grip to the cross itself and therefor make the catch a bit sturdier. Just my 2 cents.

                        Best regards

Oh lord, that is a sweet one.

The lines above the mark are catch positioning-marks. They're found on some wartime Deumers, too. Mostly, of course, they've covered by the catch.

I'm still looking for one of these, so Nigel...

                          Seriously, though, it is magnificent.
                          Best regards,
