    Knight Cross 57er ribbon clasp Grossdeutschland

    Gottfried Tornau photo and his first 57er ribbon clasp with only the WW 2 awards on it!
    Führer Sturmartillerie-Brigade der Führer-Grenadier-Division "Großdeutschland"
    Tornau won his Knight's Cross for actions at Nantikow, in Pomerania, leading a counterattack against a large Soviet armored attack, breaking the offensive and allowing thousands of wounded soldiers, as well as civilians to flee west.

      Very nice ribbon bar Also great to see a pic of him in his Bundeswehr Uniform. I think this ribbon bar is the first one he had, because of the missing Bundesverdienstkreuz and Sportabzeichen.
