Very nice Luud! A good decision to buy this fine S&L piece. A Halbetui style case and another DKiS that very difficult to upgrade! For a guy who doesn't really collect 57er's you sure have a nice collection of 57er's!

      Super nice piece, Luud.

I'm just learning about this 57er stuff, but I will say that I've seen some really ugly 57er DKiS decorations on the forum, and this ain't one of them. It's a beautiful example, even to my untrained eyes.

From what I can tell just by reading a little, the solid hinge-block is a good sign, and the pin-shape is of course familiar to me from other 57ers. Was S&L the only company using this pin style?

I think the first photo you look is more than decent... it's terrific. The detail and lighting show it off really well.

      Congratulations on this one.

        Thanks guys,

Because I already have an early DKis, I would have passed on this one if you guys all weren't so postive.
Now I have it in hands, I am really happy that I bought it.

I am also still learning. But you already got the basics.
Other members have more experience with makers and needles.
But I can only say that this needle is exactly the same as on some Sy&L clasps and ccc's that I have. I didn't see it on others.
