57 Cased Dkig..

hi guys,

opinions please. i have spotted this cased 1957 dkig (please see - ' cased awards ')on jamie cross's site www.thirdreichmedals.com . described as possibly a MAYBAUER piece with many war time parts and case ? sorry - unable to upload pics from this site.priced at £450.

In my opinion nothing to do with Meybauer, but a very nice and old piece ! I have seen 3 or 4 in the last 30 years and i think they should come from Berlin. Wreath and the bright red enamel are very close to the former Godet-pieces and i agree Dr. Klietmann, the designer of the 1957-DKs, has sold this via his company "Die Ordenssammlung". May be they were produced by former workers from Godet, Dr. Klietmann was married with the one of the Godet-daughters and bought the company after the war.

I too would doubt that it is from Maybauer, as I am not aware of them having been involved in the production of 1957 items.

That aside, I have looked on Jamies site, in the section 'Cased Medals and Badges', as well as most other areas but can't find the item to look at it. To help me view it, where exactly is it and, or what is it's item number.

It's not on their site anymore.

It was there just yesterday, but when I came back today in the morning it was gone.

The cross was was very nice and was accompanied with case which looked war time.
