Post-war acknowledgment medal?

Don't know if this is the place to post this, but did the W.German government ever mint an award similar to the Hindenburg Cross, for their WW2 vets? Or were they just supposed to be content with the fact that they were still alive?

As far as I know the West German Government didnt award anything to anybody for WW2.
