    My 57 IC set

    I am only missing the 1957 era 1914 Iron Cross 2nd Class and the spange.

    Can anyone put me on track of the 57 type 1914 IC 2nd Class and the German Cross multi piece stickpins?

      I agree and hope you are able to complete the set Bob.One suggestion,Why not add an early second type RK? There easy to come by and inexpensive.

          When you've got that many early 57 RK's, and I'm only guessing here, but I don't imagine you need a second type RK. A close up shot of the obverse and reverse of the oakleaves and oakleaves with swords would be nice. Thanks, Russel.

            A beautiful set Bob Thanks for sharing it.

            As for the two items you are looking for, the multipart 57 DK stickpins seem to be rarer than hens teeth these days. I did know a dealers site with a '57' version of the 1914 EK1 on it, but I've just checked and it's gone. If I see any, (and I haven't snapped them up), I'll let you know.

            Just as an aside, and so we don't all get shot down for using the term '57' ( )for the 1914 EK, there was no 57 version of the 1914 EKs. Manufacture was always allowed as these were old Imperial awards, and they never carried any proscribed symbols, e.g. the swastika. Therefore the production of the 1914 EKs had continued irrespective of the 57 law. However, as I do for ease of reference, and as I am sure Bob is doing here, they are often, though spuriously, referred to as '57' 1914 EKs to distinguish between the ones made from 1914 into the 1930s, those made during WW2 and the ones manufactured after 1945.

              You are correct. I am seeking a 1914 Iron Cross, 2nd Class made my Steinhauer, of one of the authorized makers, during the 1957 to 1960 era.

                Very impressive collection of early 1957-pieces, i would be glad to see more details.
                I prefer to let my early 1957-KCs sleep in their cosy cases....

                  Hello

                  Bob and Markus, two very impressive sets of RKs, EKs and DKs. Best I can manage for RKs, EKs and DKs is this lot.

                  I too would like to see, if possible, some close in detail of both sets please, backs and fronts.
