A very nice catalogue and some very interesting badges included, the Luftwaffe Air/Sea rescue, Luftwaffe Panzer Assault for example.

            Hi Hardy,

Very interesting catalogue! Many thanks fot posting these great scans.

No surprises in the awards presented (except for maybe the upside down Schlachtflieger Spange??) as all were authorised. Where do you think the fakers got the patterns for the fake numberd LW awards, Seekampf and Balloonbeobachter badges from in the first place?? The 57ers!

I'm sure anyone with a Kleinkampfmittel abz will be looking at the good pic of the bullion 57er closely - or they should be.

Re the firm Sedlatzek, their WW1 and WW2 award range has always struck me as fairly limited and items marked to them are few and far between - rare would not be an overstatement. I've always been under the impression that they were stockists/resellers rather than mass producers of the awards they sold. Does anybody else have thoughts on this matter?

            Regards
            Mike
            Regards

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

If you PM/contact me without the courtesy of using your first name, please don't be offended if I politely ignore you!

              Are you sure ?

As far as i,m aware the Lappland schild was never officially authorised as a 1957 award , although S & L made them alongside many other 1957 awards that weren't in the official muster.

To make ribbon bars Steinhauer & Lück had to produce miniatures of awards as the lapland shield and creta cuff title side by side with miniatures of the rk, iron cross, eastern front and so on. While the lapland shield and creta cuff was not forbidden as they had no swastika from the start, they had to produce these from day one to get some uniformity in the ribbon bars. It is only natural then that full size versions was made as the veterans had lost these during the war/surrender.

                  Hello Peter ,

Yes i know , i was waiting for the usual comments about it not being on the muster and therefore not a real "1957" award so thought i,d get in first and point out that S&L did make these alongside many other unaltered awards .
