From what I can see in the photos the EK looks ok, possibly a mid production 57 re-issue piece. The rims appear in the photo to have been burnished, (polished). Are they ?

However, to be certain, do you have any face on photos of the rear of the cross with the pin down ? Is the core magnetic or non magnetic ?

Did only get these 3 pictures from the seller, no other info.
He is not a collector and he says that he have had this item in his possesion since 1966.


What will be a fair price to offer him for this pice?

If it is from 1966 then, as far as I am aware, it should have a magnetic core and the burnished, (polished), rims. The first photo you posted does appear to show the burnished rims.

I suppose what it has to come down to is how much the person is asking for it, and whether they will give you an inspection period.

Sorry, missed this when I replied before. The price of these is wholly dependant on the quality of the finish, whether the core is magnetic or not, or if it is of early, mid or late production - and there can be quite a difference in price based on these factors.

I would ask for some better, closer in, face on pictures of the back and front first, or ask for, say, a seven day inspection / return period and post photos or scans of it on here when you have it in your hand.
