Picked this up at this weekends show, combed all through my books and it looks like its an early 2nd pattern 1903 Forestry Dirk with a curved plated blade. Havent seen one of these before and want to make sure its not one of a hundred Naval variations of dirks? Will eventually be for sale but have to confirm what it is.

I agree it looks quite similar to Fuller's example of a second pattern, curved blade forestry dirk, except for the simple, non-sakura mekugi, which is found on his examples of a 1st pattern.
Possibly an early transitory version of the 2nd? Or it's a curved-blade 1st version?
Based on the size difference in Fuller's examples, I'd lean toward early 2nd. Plus, like the kyugunto, dirks are found with many variations due to differing manufacturers styles.
