Found this this week at my local flee market, can anyone help with an ID please

Japanese Navy cap/helmet badge? I don't know about authenticity so will leave that to the experts.

I found this image showing your pin on a private-purchase sun helmet:

Japanese Imperial Navy Sun Helmet A "safari" style helmet used by the Japanese Imperial Navy.
This pattern was typically private purchase, and adorned with the gilt naval anchor and cherry blossom.

I must admit im a bit suprised at the lack of comments on this cap badge, Guy found a pick of one being used on a private purchase sun helmet , can that be all

Out of hand very hard to tell if it's original or not. All the originals I've seen had a gold wash. Other than that it is a navy pith helmet insignia. What other info were you looking for?!?
