leather cover on the saya

I have a question, I own a couple of swords the has a leather cover over the saya,

How do you care for the leather, can you just us a leather conditioning to keep them from drying out, just want to preserve the leather covers.

I use Connolly hide food on my leather items but be warned it does darken the leather

I would recomend RENAISSANCE WAX.

Anything you use will change the original color & make a knowledgeable collectors alarm go off questioning originality. Leave as is.

In this case (leather weather/combat covers) I'd agree.
