    Non military Japanese war souvenirs.

    Non military Japanese war souvenirs.

All of these items are from the estate of a WW2 veteran who served in Asia. Since many of you are obviously knowledgeable of Japanese culture, I have a question. Are all of these items Japanese, and are they occupation era souvenirs or items that would have been made for the Japanese people. Thank You.

Many of these items can be found in Japanese department stores to this day, and imo, unless there is a manuf. date or something similar on the item pointing to a specific time, the items could have been made at any time in the past several decades.

        non military Japanese souvenirs....

I agree with Tom on this one. Tough to say when these came back unless the items are marked. The only other thing you have that gives you a clue is the fact that the vet. served in Asia. If he was in Japan during the Occupation, then it's likely they are from that era but that stretched from the end of the war into the 1950's.

Right -- you can still find these same items at the concession store in the New Sanno Hotel (Tokyo) run by the US Navy.
