    Good day to all a friend of mine wants to buy this item .I was wondering what y"all think of it and what is the mark on it say?Thanks in advance for any and all help.

    Technically this is a fog horn used on small boats (like fishing boats). It's a European design but was copied by the Japanese, I have a couple Japanese examples. Even though they were designed to be a fog horn on a boat one of the examples I have was used by a Japanese civil defense team during the war.

        I wouldn't say it's BS, it's just impossible to prove.
        I guess it wouldn't surprise me if someone picked one of these up on a battlefield.....they are very loud.....but, as they always say: buy the item and not the story.

          Oh I agree 100% buy the item and not the story.I have been doing that as long as I can remember,the BS stories have always been a part of the hobby.

            The seller implies the vet told him this directly so he should be able to provide you with the vet's name, unit etc. if the banzai story has any credibility. At least you can find out where it was found. Personally, I'm suspicious of any of these alleged "vet" stories that don't provide any real details.
