    Kanji on repro blade

What is this kanji supposed to be? It's on a Chinese copy but I wondered why they went to the trouble. Is it supposed to make it more genuine? Is it even Japanese?

I think that character is "TO", the inspection stamp used by the Kokura Arsenal.

The other one found is "NA", used by Nagoya.

So in that case, it is an attempt to appear more genuine!

Beater is correct, the kanji is Tō; a contraction for 東京 Tōkyō.

For the edification of other readers, the Nagoya mark that Beater mentions is:
        Na
        名古屋 Nagoya

Very convincing "To" stamp. Wonder why they would have gone to that much trouble to duplicate that stamp, but incorrectly stamp the drag with a serial number (which wasn't done on Type 95 guntos)?
