Japanese cigarette case?

I would be grateful for your opinion on this cigarette case - it is supposed to be a vet bringback - may it be a real ww2 period case? If so of what value?

Looks battered and not Silver , could be from the 20's to the 50's , pretty bog standard tourist fare . I would guess it has a low value . Rob
