Japanese grades/ranks for Navy/Army
少尉 Sho-i: Ensign/2nd LT
中尉 Chu-i: Lieutenant (Junior Grade)/1LT
大尉 Tai-i/Dai-i: Lieutenant/Captain
少佐 Shou-sa: Lt. Commander/Major
中佐 Chu-sa: Commander/Lt. Colonel
大佐 Tai-sa [Dai-sa]: Captain/Colonel
Taka-san: Is "IJN Captain" [dai-i] and "IJN Colonel" [dai-sa] used amongst international collectors and historians; or, do they translate the IJN grades into the USN grades that I used?

It's a brown leather sword belt with a tarnished brass claw-type buckle, not a belt with a round dress buckle. It has the strap with the hook at the top & the snap-hook at the bottom of the strap. It highly resembles the belt in the picture ( 763 ) on page 185 of the book "Imperial Japanese Army-Navy Unif/Equipment ", except it has the extra strap as mentioned.
