    IJN Winter Uniforms

    Hi All,

The following photos and collections are from our member, Jareth-san.

I am helping him to post some photos of IJN winter uniforms.

    1.) IJN Heavy Winter Coat

This is one nice winter coat, and I think the fur materials might came from rabbits or bears.

    Issued from Yokosuka Arsenal.

    Size 2.

    October 1939 Made.

There is still a small manufacturer tag at the left side, which indicates a Takashimaya made example.

Takashimaya is a very famous shopping mall. Back in pre 1945, Takashimaya sold lots of Army and Naval Officers' uniforms and gears. They even sold German Luger Pistols ! Some extra interesting info.

    2.) IJN Mittens (Trigger Finger)

These are not commonly encountered IJN materials.

    1937 Made.

    3.) IJN Winter Shorts

I have never seen this particular IJN example. So I don't know much about them.

    A very interesting piece.

Issued from No.2 Food and Clothing Depot (Navy)

    August 1943 Made.

    Regards,
    Taka

Thanks Taka for posting. Also to Bruno who helped me with another offering. Another off my collecting bucket list! Now all I need to find is an early SNLF tunic with loops on shoulders for shoulder board attachment!
