Hello all, purchased this belt several years back on E-Bay. I was interested in it because of the unusual way the dog tag was attached to the belt. The bayonet and frog were latter put on by me. Any ideas about this belt. No stampings or marks are on it. Length is approx 42 inches. Navy, army, or a post-war fantasy piece?

One will find from time to time dog tags attached to sword belts in a fashion similar to yours. Some belts can be found to have a special pocket for the tag, or the soldier will sew the tag directly onto the belt. This would most likely be an officer's tag. The unit number 4604 on the right, with the officer's name in the middle, and his blood type on the left. I have the unit code as being for the 58th Independent Motor Transport Company located in Manchuria.

I think the family name is Suzuki, though the "suzu" and "ki" kanji are exceedingly close together -- almost looking like one word (e.g., pear/nashi: 梨 ).
