Hello forum. A local estate call yielded this nice IJA field cap...Pretty clean, w/ only light wear it seems, and luckily, more or less free from moth damage. The only "liability", is a broken chinstrap (which is simply tucked through the buckle on one side. A pretty nice display piece, and considering how infrequently WWII Japanese headgear shows up at all, I consider it a nice find. A few pix below...

Thanks Jareth. The other one I found earlier this year (w/ the "follow the leader") type markings on the back, had "stitch-rimmed" vent holes too, however these are more sparse. My original thought was to re-sell this one, however it IS beginning to grow on me. It's just getting very tough to find nice original Japanese headgear of any kind these days...
