    IJA Identity Booklet Operation Ketsugō

    What I've figured out so far:
    Name 細川 Hosogawa 巌 Iwao
    From 名古屋師管 Nagoya Shikan (Military District)
    Rank 陸軍上等兵 Pvt 1st Class

    Participated in the China Campaign, returned to Japan and was very active late in the war with preparations for Operation Ketsugō.

    It looks like your man was a light machine gunner in the 6th Inf. Reg. Repl. Unit (3rd Division). When he returned to Japan he was in the 337th Infantry Regiment. I do not know which division this regiment was in. These late war examples are interesting, thanks for sharing!
