WWII JAPANESE 4x10 FIELD GLASSES from PAWN SHOP...

A quick stop at a strip-mall pawn shop yielded this nice pair of Japanese WWII 4x10 field glasses w/ range increments in their original case. Overall condition is very good, one eyepiece is a tiny bit cloudy, but optics are still quite good. Finish on the glasses is mostly intact, with some areas of wear, and the case is very nice, the only exception being the missing brass eyelet piece on the closure strap. Probably one of the nicest pair I've come across in a while! A few pix below....

Nice! I am curious, did the pawn shop know what it had? I always wonder to what extent pawn shops "do their homework" so to speak when things walk in.

They were aware that they were military, and world war period, however they specialized more in gold, silver, coins, etc..not antiques so to speak, so it was just lucky happenstance that they happened to be there.

Cool. I wish the pawn shops I used to go to in Denver had things like your binos. It seems I was always up to my eyeballs in nail guns and compound bows whenever I went in.

Yes, they had a few bows, now that you mention it! Now nail guns, THAT I can't say for sure! Thx again for commenting!
