              Hi Bruno,

It looks like the Type 98 to me.

This one really made me curious!

Seriously, no matter what sort of search parameters I use .... invariably there is ALWAYS a Japanese manga that will show up in the image results! In this case, I searched "日本軍, 戦車の乗組員" [Japanese Army, Tank Crew]

Here's another officer, but the image is very small:

YouTube You can see the tank commanders as they pass by. One looks like he's wearing a "go to hell" rag* around his neck (face/mouth cloth), but maybe it is a respirator bag? The others look like some sort of respirator bag.

                    --Guy

[*Note: When I was in the Army we called the triangular first aid bandages -- when worn around the neck -- "go to hell rags" because if you don't like them, then you can go to hell; probably a carry-over from the Vietnam war. Highly unauthorized, but in the desert (1982~85, Ft. Irwin, Calif.) it was necessary; in the Florida swamps, it was merely a luxury].

That's from "Girls und Panzer", which was being heavily advertised last time I was in Japan (March-April 2013) because of a new DVD.

Bruno, I posted a nice photo I found earlier

Enlisted men wore mechanics/tankers coveralls in warm climates & mech/tanker jacket on top with cold weather boots in China. Standard belt without pouches etc. There are goggles variation that were primarily used by tankers. Relatively simple & easy to make manakin

Here are the goggles specifically meant for tank crew use. These are a bit hard to find.
