    Sword Belt

Hello, Is it just me, or is this hanger on backwards. I am not 100% sure and I do not want to remove it and turn it around unless I have too.
    Thanks Jack

It looks wrong. There need to be a hook on top of the sword hanger.

        Sword hanger

I might even be looking at the belt upside down ?? But I do not think so.

There must be a hook , if not its useless. The hook is for hanging the sword and both hands are free.
Heres an example with a navy dirk , but the system is the same.

Here's a Chinese-made modern repro at Ebay. Note it is placed upside down on the dummy; hanger should be to the body's left.

There's the hook Gunto was talking about:

But the hook is incorrectly positioned upside down.

              Here's another Chinese-repro [Hikishop] of a canvas/leather belt:

Some belts had a leather "pocket" -- stitched on angle between the buckle and the hanger -- to secure the scabbard during combat. In the style of swordsmanship I studied, we used similar types of canvas belts.

                    Sword Belt

No, I get it, I just kept looking at it and I was thinking something was wrong. I have several correct sword belts. I just did not notice this one did not have a hook, the belt is not a ebay reproduction, but I do not have a clue what the other piece is attached too it. I have an extra chain and it will work on the belt. This thing must of had some kind of hook assembly on it, or it goes on a horses head ??? but it is gone now. Thanks, I just over looked what was staring me in the face. Jack
