Japanese Surgical Kit. Translation Help ?

I wonder if anyone might be able to help me with the translation of the characters in this surgical Kit that I recently picked up ?
I was told that it was a WWII Japanese Field Surgical Kit.
I would be interested if anyone knows anything about these ?
It's complete and still packed in grease. It has two small compartments in the base which contain sewing needles and stitching thread still in the brown oil paper.
I wondered if the leather pad in the lid was perhaps a strop for sharpening the blades.
Any information on this item would be of great help.

Yes, I'm pretty sure it's a brushed aluminum case which has a thin lacquer coating.
Would you know if it's at all possible to date ? I have attached a few more photos showing the case.

It's very hard to tell from the case since it doesn't have any markings.

However maybe there is a maker mark on the surgical gear or the leather pouch.

The other thing is that field doctors or medics used non military issued medical gears.

The kit might be not military issued but it might be manufactured at that era.

Still a very interesting piece of history.

Thank you for your opinion. It's greatly appreciated. Unfortunately there are no markings whatsoever. Not even on the instruments themselves.
However, it definitely has the appearance of being of the 1940's era
