    IJA omamori puch with omamori

Here is an Omamori pouch that I have had for a while. Its IJA olive drab with a yellow star hand stitched to the front of the pouch, like an IJA field cap. It has 5 Omamori (good luck charms/ blessed charms) inside. The outsides have nice Kanji and stamps. If anyone recognizes any of the temples, or can read anything on these, please let me know. I have read that its bad luck, to open them. Out of respect for the original owner of these, I won't open them, but rather admire them for what they are. All comments welcome. Thanks,

    PG-

Very cool! I like items like that. I'd like to put that in mine and Gunnar's volume III of Japan at War if you would allow us? Thanks for sharing.

Interesting pouch. I have one that is of similar design and looks to be made of the same kind of material. The star on my pouch however looks to be one that was used on collar tabs. I wonder if such a pouch design was popular across the IJA, or if it was peculiar to a specific unit.
