    Manchurian Railroad Guards

    Hi,

    I just acquired a grouping belonging to a Sergeant Saghi Yokani. There appears to be a document commerating his five years of service Showa 14-19. Four photos and two sake cups. One of these is a service cup with the Manchurian Railroad Guards. Can someone tell me something about this unit? Also, there are two medals in their issue boxes. The entire grouping comes in what I assume to be a wartime black lacquered keepsake box. When I receive the items, I'll upload them so hopefully someone can translate them. Thanks for any help.

    Your cup is probably for a member of an Independent Garrison Unit, one of many situated in locations around Manchuria (composed of a unit HQ and a varied number of Independent Garrison Infantry Battalions). Close up pics. of the interior of the cup should hopefully shed more light on the ID of the exact Garr. unit. Hope this helps.
