Help with IJA Officer's field cap

Hi All,
I got this officer's field cap in excellent condition from Japan a while back (10+ years), is this a good one? I've read about how field caps both EM's and Officer's were being made with original period material using cut up uniforms and overcoats and was wondering if this is one of them. I've checked Nakata's website and it looks different from the ones he is selling. The star is machined sewn on the front. The chinstrap looks like an enlisted one with officer's side buttons but there are no thread loops for havelocks. Can someone please translate the kanjis on the insides?
