This is an interesting sword. Dawson shows these late war swords in his book, chapter 16, and pcay is a pretty sharp sword dealer on ebay. I think this sword is a winner from what I can see in the photographs.

The quality of it to me just doesnt scream $1300++++
Is there something im missing that makes this sword this much or is it the usuall bidder bidding frenzy driveing the value up?

Could be why the price is going up - certainly not going up for the quality!

i (maybe) can see the early copper one hitting that price, from the pix id be very leary of a put together.

I remember about this time last year Bill Rannow sold this same type of sword on his site for about $2000. So its not that far fetched!

Hopefully Bill will enlighten us further on this intriguing sword type.

This last ditch type dosnt show up that often.And since its poor quality ,they are always in poor condition.
