Sword help.....

Hello folks...

I don't own these two swords.

A person e-mailed me asking for help.... and I said I will give it a try.

Their Grandfather supposedly brought these back.

Any clue to age and value?

Would like to see whole and close ups of the blade only and the tang area. If any signatures on ther tang, a close of that too.

I am sorry... these are the only photos I have.

I asked the guy if he can remove the handle... and he was too afraid to.

I will try to get some better overall photos.

Mmmm, an educated guess on age and value would be difficult without a good focused photo of the whole blade and the tang......
The writings on the shirasaya on the tanto reads "Izumino-kami" but that won't mean anything unless the tang signature is examined. But at least from the weather-beaten looks of the blade, I would not put much value to it. Then again, can't say anything with confidence unless the whole blade and tang is examinable by photos.

I agree with Edokko. but based on the pics provided they dont look like anything special and I would say under $600 for the 2.
