Good day gents .I obtained this cap from a vets family.The guy that obtained the cap was a submariner and Petty officer electrician in the torpedo room of his sub.He i believe obtained this cap at Singapore .The family gave me documentation with the cap of their fathers service and what he had told them.They also sent picture of his sub.In the letter i have posted (just part of the paperwork) the family mention killing Japanese , but dont use the full word Japanese so sorry for that.
I have to say we are lucky that we have all been able to forgive and forget unlike our forefathers .My grans brother was captured at Singapore although surviving the war he was so ill when released he didnt survive long.They all hated the japanese for that, where as i have made friends with the likes of Shu and we talked about my grans brother and its good we can all realise war is terrible for both sides
