My niece moved to Poland with a friend to teach. She lives her friends family. She knew I collected and so she sent me this Polish Officer saber which was in a barn. She misplaced the scabbard. Said the sword was hard to get out. Looking at the blade tells me it looks like it was blood stained and corroded in spots. It has etchings of the Polish eagle. There is a number 5 stamped on the front of the brass guard. Also the makers marks at the hilt. Nice relic with some character. Thought I would share this with the forum. I guess I cannot post pics until I renew my membership. Will be posting.

After what you said about the leather and wire. I asked my niece and she said her friends dad had someone restore the swords grip. Still looking for the scabbard. ThanksComment
