A buddy of mine just picked up this grouping of medals for one man from a 509th paratroopers family. The vet brought all these home and they are just as found a few weeks ago. All the ribbon bars and medal bars are done exactly the same as far as the wearing devices on the back...really neat group!! I bought this group with intentions of hanging onto them, but I may not. Question about the group I have is this... because of all the orders and such is there anyway to find out who they belonged too?? Thanks, Alex

I think this is a made up 'group' done by someone who like the look of the medlas. As mentioned, sopme pretty improbable combinations and, for example, the stars and palm leaves on the one CdeG seem to indicate 3 Army level mentions in despatches/citations and several at the divisional level, which is quite a medal!
I'm thinking fantasy pieces, as suggested early on.

I would agree, a bunch of pretty medals put together and not worn by any "one" individual.
Maybe I'm wrong, but in all the mixed medal groupings I've seen thus far, I've never seen combinations of this magnitude.
On the French Croix de Guerre with multiple devices, it did happen and it's really hard to say without looking closely at the medals. Some added devices post-war and some got reribboned over time. Keep in mind that the French market exits for these even today.
Here's an older thread and you can see some other examples. Some of mine were taken off the original medal bars (not by me!).
