What kind of helmet is this 86 at the front shield

Nice police helmet latter half of the 19th early 20th C. Judging from the shield shape I would say US.

Most likely spent its life as a stage/film costume bank.

Looks like Swiss & Spanish cocades on the 2 hats.... otherwise anybodys guess...

Police helmet doesn't appear US made, the badge does have the shape, but not the quality... unless a studio prop. Could be a "S. American" sham copy or something?

Probably low interst and low value unless there's a "treasure" in the mix?

It probably won't make any difference re: helping with identification, but the cap with the crude metal badge and the one with the white trim seem to be facing in the wrong direction in your photos.

While someone may still step forward and say , "Ah-Ha! These are...", to me they look like the sort of hats one could have found in the stock of an old time costume rental company back in the 50s or 60s.
