    Can someone ID this sword?

    Hello,
I was recently offered a sword that is just like the one in this link. However, I cannot ID it. If I can remember correctly, it has Fa De Toledo on one side of the blade and Ano De 1888 (or 1884, I can't remember) on the other side.

Can anyone tell me what country and what model it is? Thanks!

The title of the link says "Toledo Spanish Sabre"
Toledo is a city in Spain so it is a Spanish one :-)

      Thanks,
I know that sometimes Toledo makes sword for countries other than Spain, so i needed to ask.

Is this a military sword? Does it have any designation such as Model 18-something?

      Thanks!

Toledo is also the centre of a massive market in swords for the tourist and fantasy trade. This, to me, has the look of one of those. The blade in particular, so far as can be seen from the photos, looks plated and not as if it is intended as a working blade. The dog's head on the guard is also quite unusual, IMO and should make it easy to identify if it is a military model. I would be pleasantly surprised, however, if that were the case.

        Just my two cents worth.

Looks like it might be a "1930s/40s" vintage Spanish (or) Military dress Sword.... can't see the Royal Crest well enough to say for sure.... could be Portugal or Andorran or Span. Colonial..(?)... I don't think it's the cheap "tourist" quality... "Dog head" fitting well known on swords....

Probably not a "hot collectors item" in the militaria world....( unless swords are "your" thing")

I've seen reference to dog's head pommels on swords but hadn't run across this version, but I'm certainly no expert on swords either.
