Looks like a Czech lion. Modern, me thinks since 1993

My first thought was Norway, but it allway's carries an Axe, the czech Lion has allway's a double tail, so maybe something else.

        Ww2

It came in a grouping from a US WW2 Veteran's estate and there are also some tunic buttons that came with it with the same lion on it?

          Bulgarian

I was just doing some research on Insignia and is it possible this is Bulgarian? It is definitely from the WW2 era as it came with a huge group of German Items from a US vet's estate over a year ago and all the pieces were good an this insignia was included in the lot?
          Opinions welcome

          Thanks

No this is the 'Czech lion' could be from one of their very small fascist parties but I still think it is modern just because of the manufacturing style.

Check it under a UV lamp

I agree byterock is Czech lion: crown, double tail, left claw down.

It doesn't look like the Czech or Bohemian lion to me - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coat_o...Czech_Republic . The one button is marked to a Brussels, Belgium maker, so maybe that is a clue?

                          belong

They probably don't even belong together then as they were all in a huge lot that the GI brought home. He probably just picked up items from all the places he was stationed. Do you think though the large button and lion crest are a matching set? Same lion insignia from the same place? As well the two small buttons coming from the same place is quite obvious?

Thanks for everyone's help and if anyone else wants to chime in be my guest

It's hard to say if the large button matches the cloth crest. The lions are close and both are wearing a crown, but the tails are very different. Sorry I can't be of further help, but crowns and other heraldic symbols are not my strong points.
