Here is my newest piece, the official issue red packet for the Turkish issued War Medal. Forget about the fancy German or Austrian made medals, miniature chains or documents, this 55x68mm raspberry red, thick paper, rectangular envelope with the silver imprint of crescent and star facing upper left corner is probably the rarest item in the TWM collections.

Mr. Demir Erman categorises this type as the type 2 since there are only two variations of this official envelope to the TWM other being rectangular with gold crescent and star facing upwards.

I have photographed it along with the certificate and an original Turkish made war medal as a full grouping that would be given to the soldier.

    Hope that you enjoy.

As a person who likes to lists and categorize things, I have been trying to put together a complete list of individual German Army units that were stationed throughout the Ottoman Empire during WWI. Thanks to Alex (jaba1914 from GMIC) now I have an extended list of units that I can compare my known German Turkish War Medal recipients and documents.

Here is the master list, please feel free to contribute if you know any other German units.

You may add some of the autonomic Kraftfahr Kolonne's (but I don't remember their numbers)

Kaiser Wilhelm with his Ottoman Feldmarschall uniform and his Ottoman medals during his visit in Istanbul. From Iclal Orses Collection.

That TWM looks very BB&Co. to my eyes in close up!

One of the favorite items in my collection, a mini stickpin with an EK and TWM. The single EK stickpin is only 8mm and marked 800 on the back. The little note also came with them and I would appreciate if someone can translate it.

Another photo arrived today which I called TWM Duo. It is dated ''Juni 1918''. Here is a close up detail of the medals and ribbon bars. Wonder what medal is on the ribbon bar of the taller guy other than the EK and the TWM...

It looks like austrian FJ commemorative cross ribbon. It's possible, but I'm not sure.
