did the US ever supply TAIWAN with M1 helmets?

I know the Taiwanese Marines used a M1 style helmet made in Taiwan, but did they ever use US made M1's before they started making their own version?

would it be correct to use a Vietnam era M1 for a Taiwanese Marine display?

I believe so... the US has been supplying the M1 helmets since WWII to the Republic of China. There was a lot of military aid through the 1950s-70s and I wouldn't doubt included in that aid are some helmets.

I am trying to work on a 1960s-early 1990s set up and I am buying up some stuff from an eBay seller from Taiwan (not on ebay though, he has a lot more stuff to offer which he hasn't listed... yet).

thats what I thought, they probably have a mixture of US & Taiwan made M1 helmets in their military supply, so a US helmet with a Taiwan camo cover would work for a Taiwanese Marine display.

Post pictures of it when you are done. I am interested in seeing it. I just bought a newer period M1 helmet cover that is the three color camo type.
