I've shown this around for years, with no answers: German-style 45mm box buckle, plain brass (never had an emblem). Brazed post/prong assembly, hook catch. Unmarked.Dug from a WWI battlefield in Poland. Possibly E. Euro gendarmerie of some kind? I can't post pics, but don't think they would add much anyway to the description. Ideas anyone?
