Too many medals ?

I think the amount of medals given is linked to the tradition and culture of the awarding country, for example the IDF has only three medals and in all the time Israel exist they were awarded only 1022 times (take to account that since it's founding there were not been a year that the IDF wasn't involved in militry operation against the enemy) the wearing of this medals are allowed only in holiday, parades and ceremonies the other time the soldier wear the medal's ribbon bar, althought most prefer to wear the ribbon bar even in special occasion in fact I never even saw a picture of somebody wearing the medals with uniform, so I think that the fact that Israel lacks any culture of "showing off" your medals influence of the amounts of medals that are issues, and it's also make them very prestige, when you saw someone with it's ribbon bar (and it's not often) you know that he truelly earn it.
