We know it is hungarian, but what for is it ?

This is the Hungarian Vitez Order.
It was established in 1920 (State order Nr 6650/1920) by the Government under Prime Minister Count Teleki and Admiral Horthy the Regent of Hungary from 1920 until 1945.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o></o>

a little late, (five years) but maybee still interesting for somebody. its a vitézi jelvény - a badge of the knightly order of "vitéz"

A picture of the back would be of use as eindecker2 has suggested. This badge has been issued at later times than those listed by kaisertreu. This could be one of the more recent issued pieces.
