    Unidentified ribbon

    Hello:

Who can identify the third ribbon on this bar?

I suppose it could be a veteran association ribbon?

throwing a dart in the dark here..

is the blue and yellow stripe ribbon familiar? It looks like a ribbon on a ribbon...

          some fraternal order?

Accidentally offending people on the internet since 1997

Mark is right, it looks like a ribbon on a ribbon; although it is made in one piece.
            I have NO idea.

            Best regards

Believe me, it is one ribbon. It has been a tough one, I check states colours and found nothing. But as you can see, it is a real ribbon on a real ribbon bar! I am hoping Rick will have the answer! Rick.....?

I see it is one ribbon.
From the center it looks like Braunschweig, but the whole combo is odd. I´ve never seen a ribbon like that.

                Best regards

If it is NOT some local Braunschweig Veterans Group on there "illegally" with the Hindenburg Cross, then it may be something official from South America or Asia. I'll copy this over to International.

                    Unidentified ribbon

It does not appear to be South American (or at least doesn't match anything I've ever seen from South America) or Asian.

I'd lean toward a local or society award.

Thanks Jeff-- I have zero references for those areas, and didn't know if this was something like a Siamese Coronation/Jubilee medal or the like. (Stranger things turn up in German groups!)

All joking aside, I had checked my records on Thai ribbons (even though the general color scheme was off) and came up empty there too. The frustrating thing is that the ribbon looks somehow familiar.

My current bet is some veterans' bund, but who knows.

                        Still head-scratching .....

I'm with Ed in thinking that the ribbon looks familiar, but I sure can't match it up with anything.

In looking at the color scheme, it does not appear to be a German veterans' group ribbon (I'd expect red/white/black in there). The colors that are there could be Dutch (ribbon of the Order of the Dutch Lion flanked by Dutch colors). There's nothing official matching this in my Dutch sources, but we could still be talking about organizational awards or perhaps a lifesaving award without national status.

                          Just a thought.

Beyond being contrary to regulations worn with a Hindenburg Cross, this one is just nagging at me because of the infrequency at which we see LOCAL vets type "awards" with RIBBON BAR sized ribbons...

I have a distant bells ringing feeling this will turn out to be something like a Monaco Wedding Medal or something equally obscure but "official."

                            Or....

it's the Hildesheim Gesangverein 1857 eV brooch for Loyal Attendance!

The closest Dutch award I can find would be the Inhuldigingsmedaille 1948:

Same colors and somewhat similar pattern, but not a match.

It still seems more likely to be a local veteran's award, although the lack of black stripes is, as Jeff notes, an issue.
