Coleman is in NSW not Victoria so I doubt its him.If you have been ripped off by him-no surprise BTW-why do you need to hide his name?Should be making it public.

In the case of the ARVN Airborne jacket, I found myself wondering how I missed the description that the "All of the insignia...has been added to the jacket post-war, as a representative piece". etc.

Lookng back on the ad, I would say that was because I went straight to the underlined statement "This Item is 100 percent original and not a post war fake."

The item is not 100 percent original. It is a put together item made up of wartime insignia and a period jacket.

Further down the section is bolded and underlined " I am selling this and other items on behalf of a friend of mine who started collecting VN militaria during his 2 tours of VN in the late 60's and early 70's I am selling this Uniform along with many others items which include patches peak caps Berets etc, all of which have a 100% money back guarantee on the items being genuine war time manufacture ! "

This posting plays it both ways. There is a lot here written with the intent of pushing the reader past the fact that this is a put together.

As far as the original owner having collected this item during one of his two tours in Vietnam, that is doubtful. This camo pattern and style of uniform came out very late in the war and was most likely not available when he was in country. It was readily available when these were being brought out of the country in the 1990's.

I am not going to go so far as to call this listing deceptive. But there is a lot of slick salesmanship going on here. If it sells for the value of the individual uniform and patches, with a slight premium, fine and dandy. If someone pays hundreds of dollars believing this to be a full and complete period uniform, then that would be unfortunate.

And sorry to say this, but these kind of sales tactics just make the viewer question everything else that is up for sale as well.
