GREAT !!! Thanks Jeff for sharing that !!!
I will had a comment about the cap badges shown by Patrick. There are differents "models', maybe I should say makers. One of them is Drago itself (the french army enameled badge maker) but there is also one VNese maker. Those two are solid brass. But some other models are stamped.
To push further the great gathering made by Jeff, I will add this one, which is more blueish.
Unfortunately, I have no knowledge about the beret shown above. But it is really nice !

the last beret you are showing is absolutly great, my guess is that it s sort of Rural hamlet devlopment programm maybe a civic programm supervised by the armed forces, but here again it s only my guess.
The known military hat insignias are more warlike in their design, para, ranger, police, infantry, this one has more of a civilian touch.

Alex, you win a cupie doll! Officially known as the Rural Development Program Cadre. They were in charge of repairing and developing rural hamlets and villages to lure the populace away from the VC! I don't know which is more rare, the beret or the photo. Jeff"Great hunter yes! great fisherman yes! fine figure of a man yes! that is all you need to know" Jeremiah Johnson.

Hi Alex, I don't know if the two programs are related, but I doubt it! Thanks for the comments, most folks are only interested in the military berets and insignia. The photograph is part of my collection, I am always looking for good quality pics, I think they are much harder to find than the berets. Just try and find a good closeup of ARVN marine corp berets being used in country for example!
