Here is a pic of another beret that I just can't seem to find any information on. I have heard of the Air Commando's somewhere but the info is lost to me. Can anyone help out, How about you Bob C, surely you must have heard of these guys. Any way here are the pic's, this is one of my favorite berets, the detail is exquisite! Jeff

Alex, this is a bevo made tag for this particular tailor. These are usually found on better quality beret from well established shops. These types are also being reproduced currently! Jeff

Just found this! I can't believe I never saw this site before. They even have a photo of the patch. I have tried several times to track this unit down with no luck. I should post a few more berets here! Jeff

                        Hi Jeff,

thanks for the additional reference images of the beret insignia.

Very interesting to see the Bevo label,in fact it is a first for me...does the reproduction mimic it well?

Patrick, here is one example. I know that I have seen others. This dealer has quite a few scary patches and labels that I do not like to see. No good can come of them! Jeff

                            Hi all,

Very nice posts since I last logged in !
I am back in France for the week and too busy to post (and frozen as well!!!). Be sure I take some more pictures both of my collection but also of some copies.

As for the tag above, I have never seen a repro yet... But many tags are currently reproduced both in VN and Thailand. The dealer mentionned above is having really neat patches done in VN, from the WWII and VN era. Some are really scary. He sells them as repro, but after a few buyers they will become more real than the real stuff...

                            Talk to you soon !

                            Cheers.

                              Ah....John Angolia.

There are of course two schools of thought regarding his reproduction activities....

I personally cannot fathom the need to reproduce a tailor label for re-enactors or for any other "innocent" purposes.

It is difficult enough with quality fakes without giving fakers more tools to aid their deceptions.

It does the hobby no favours at all.

Enough with the semi-ranting, more militaria soon!

                              Patrick.

Here are a couple more rare Vietnam made berets for your viewing pleasure. First one is a 2nd Bn 27th inf beret with the wolfhounds DI attached. This unit was part of the famed 25th Div. It still has some Nam dirt on it.
