by member The Prussian:
Ingo Löhken wrote in his book "Polizei-Uniformen der süddeutschen Staaten" (Police uniforms of the south-german states) about Baden Gendarmerie 1919-1932: Helm with yellow fluted spike upon a cross- screwplate and a round visor and Baden cocades at both sides.
Does Ingo Löhken have Any Reference to a Baden gendarmerie helmet having Silver Fittings (Including a Silver color Fluted Spike)? The quote shown above from forum member "The Prussian" only references a helmet with yellow fittings. Your helmet has silver fittings...

Is your helmet still a Gendarmerie Helmet?

The super-size photos on the last posting were really over the top....
Ah ah ...it doesn't matters you can't know all about all things Alan that's life and it seems you get angry because you want to be the best at each time and it's not my side of life ..
You didn't know what it was that's life you don't have to be sarcastic because of that !
I close the debate because of your bad attitude and i have no time for bad fights just for a helmet !
Just add that I'm very happy with it military issue or not ..matter of taste !
Have a good day and happy hunting [emoji39]

Well mates,
Löhken only mentioned the yellow-spiked helmet.
He gives a few footnotes:
1) Zeitschrift für Heereskunde Nr.312
2) Verordnungsblatt für die badische Gendarmerie 1921-1933
3) F. Retzlaff: Der Polizeibeamte, Baden 1926
I have the Heereskunde N°312.
Gendarmerie:
Helmet with gold-yellow fluted spike on gold-yellow screwplate and a new round visor. On both sides the Baden cocarde.
Gemeindepolizei: Helmet like Gendarmerie
In that article the author (Karlheinz Bühler) thanks:
Ambassador (retd.) and Polizeioberrat Blankenhorn
Ministerialrat (retd.)Fritz Huber
Polizeidirektor (retd.) Edgar Heller
Hauptmann d. Schutzpolizei (retd.) Hagenlocher
If those people helped him, who else could have had more knowledges?
I assume, the white plates in this helmet were used, if there hadn´t been yellow ones.
Who cared in that crazy years about a yellow or a white Greif???

Thanks for more mud slinging, Martin Guerre... Sadly you don't know me, and you never will due to what you're accusing me of in your writings above. I am sorry that you enjoy making false accusations against me, which is a waste of your time. Absolutely in no form or fashion am I angry. I am laughing at your supersize photo posting that is unuseable, and how you post photos every time with your comments. How can that be angry??? I am not jealous either. I don't collect civil service helmets. I never have, and I never will collect civil service helmets.
Yes, it is a very nice Civil Service Helmet. Congratulations on purchasing it, and for finally revealing to the other members here what the helmet is.
I'm guessing that 99% of the members here (including myself) do not collect Civil Service Headgear. It explains why our thought process is on identifying Military Issue helmets, and why we were not able to identify what the helmet is, since it is a civil service helmet. It did not fit the normal parameters for being a military service helmet. That explains our confusion in trying to guess what it is.
Best Regards,
