    Saxon M15 Helmet, about Unissued Condition

    Here's a nice Saxon M15 Helmet that I've had in my collection for approximately 4-years. The pewter finish is exceptionally nice on the metal fittings, and the original lacquer still remains on the finish of the helmet.

    I have the non-serrated Saxon & National Kokarde set for it, which I acquired separately.

    After 4-years, I wonder if I will ever find a mint chinstrap for it, to complete the helmet...

    Best Regards,

    Alan

    Wow! Very nice Alan. Finding an original unissued M15 chinstrap for this helmet will be like winning the lottery.

        Nice helmet and a pair of un-issued cockades would really finish off this minty helmet

                Alan;
                I believe I have had this one "In Hand" and it is as nice as the pictures. I have a strap for it but the problem is.......... I will have a helmet with out a "Minty" strap.

                  Thanks for all your nice comments Gentlemen!

                  Here's a couple of photos of the markings inside. They're getting quite faint, and I've included a borrowed image from Joe Robinson's website "Colonel J's" to give everyone a better idea of who the faint maker mark in my helmet is by.

                  All the Best,

                  Alan

                  (1st image shows maker mark in my helmet. 2nd image is borrowed from website "Colonel J's" to show a better view of what the maker mark is supposed to look like.)

                      It's so wonderful to actually see what this equipment looked like when it was brand new and issued to the recruits. We often lose sight of that since we are so used to seeing equipment which has seen use in the field. Fantastic piece!! I really hope you can find a chin strap to match it. Good luck with that!!
