And if you make a study of split-brad retainers that have been re-bent, add that back pin photo to your library. It's a classic for being "removed and re-bent".

          Best Regards,

          Alan

Could you post a measurement around the circumference in cm level with the liner rivets and a clearer pic of the stamp?

            Regards

                Thanks Leib
Your sure you measured around level with the rivet holes? Forget the liner you may have a very rare size70. The stamping looks a bit funky any chance of a better shot?

that 70 stamp is very repro looking, and a 70 size shell would be 72 cm on the outside, not 70. isn't that the rule?

That shell looks repro but the photos are at all the wrong angles to tell. The rest of the parts are bad. That's a repro liner. The Stamping is too deep and pronounced in comparison to any of the stamps on my helmets.

Don't know what to think of this one... repainted shell inside and out, a liner system and chinstrap from who knows where, and a somewhat questionable manufacturer and size stamping.

The stamp pretext looks to have a 'V'? anyone else?
First foremost wanted to determine it isn't close to a size 68 which it isn't. My unissued M17 68 measures 68cm give/take weighs 12.42 lg less chinstrap, planchet #R1422 from the stahlwerk röchling völklingen mill. regarding left skirt size stamp the helmet doesn't have one.
The only steel liner band dimension I have is 65.3cm for a 66 shell.

Interesting helmet does it have a mill letter and number inside the crown area?

i kind of see a "W", a legitimate maker, but that "70" just doesn't look right. if it was cheap i would definitely get it out of curiosity.
