It's all about genuine. Compare to my grandfather's and I think you'll see it's "similar" to the same manufacture.

      Personally, I like Vati's a little more...

The Suum Cuique and the eagle center on the Busby are both poor reproductions.

Really? Not the same my grandfather's but really a repro??? And not saying the busby is genuine, but I am greatly surprised if you're right...

My grandfather's time with the Garde:

24 Sep 1914: Commander Guards Cavalry Division
          to 01 Dec 1914

Certainly the busby emblem isn't as grand as his helmet emblem. The eagle isn't nearly as nice. But that's a lot of work for a repro.

            Hi,

Here is the W cypher I am normally used to seeing on Kaiser items. The one on the busby is a little different.

Clearly not of the same manufacture. But fake?

Larger view of Oakleaf's. I'm NO expert on these. It looked convincing. But because I have one with provenance makes me an expert not... So thoughts and theories and evidence will be illuminating to other collectors.

Gary, the one you have shown is the German Emperor cypher utilizing the Hohenzollern crown.

The one in the pelzmütze is the King of Prussia cypher utilizing the Royal crown.
